December 26, 1909 William Henry Busch and Mary Mische Wedding

William Henry Busch married Mary Mische on December 26, 1909. Unfortunately I never got to meet them but they were my Great Grandparents. They had four children one of whom was my Grandpa Walter George Busch. This is one of their wedding pictures...

A White Christmas

Yesterday Shaun and I went to PF Changs for a late lunch/early dinner. It was fun but didn't taste as good as it usually does. Shaun ordered some Sweet and Sour Chicken and when he tasted it, it didn't taste right and he said he thought it was Pork. So I tasted it and agreed. It had a different texture and flavor than Chicken. He told our server and he thought we were crazy but took it back to the chef and we were right. He was amazed that we could tell the difference. After dinner we went home and ordered pizza for the kids and then it was time to leave for our play.
Our play was at Pioneer Theatre Company on the University of Utah campus. The play was White Christmas and neither one of us had seen the movie. We didn't even know there was a movie called White Christmas. It was really good! I loved it! Shaun really liked it too but I don't know if he liked it as much as I did though. We met Dustin and Carie at the intermission and they talked about BMW's because Dustin was looking at the new convertible 3 but said they wouldn't offer to let him drive it. Anyway, after the play we drove home in our separate cars and Shaun drove me by a field off of 90th south and about 72nd west where there was a large field with a stable scene of Jesus birth and a real donkey. In the field next to it there were 3 large camels with 3 wise men leading them to the stable. It was really cool and I'd love to go see it again!
I love living here. I love being able to share what Christmas means to me and have others share the same values and beliefs. It's getting harder to live with all of the fun-killers who don't think people should have some kind of value system and some kind of moral compass. There used to be unspoken morals and values that most people lived by but more and more it seems that people just do what they want when they want with no regard to anyone else. It's pretty sad!
On a somewhat brighter note...Heather still hasn't had her baby but I'm super excited and ready whenever that call comes! I really can't wait to welcome baby McEwan into the world. There are a lot of people that already love this baby even though he hasn't shown himself yet! Anytime now!!!

Thanksgiving 2010

We were so excited to have Corey and Glenna and their five kids stay with us the week of Thanksgiving! It was a really fun week! We also were excited when Shaun's mom, Heather and Brian decided to stay 2 or 3 nights with us starting the night before Thanksgiving. George and Camille joined us on Thanksgiving day and we had a Great mix of family food and fun!! We of course, were missing all of the family members who couldn't be here with us but hope their Thanksgiving was as enjoyable as ours was.
Throughout the Thanksgiving Holiday week, we were all waiting for Heather to have her baby and were hoping that she would go into labor so that Corey, Glenna and their kids would get to see the new baby before they had to go back to Montana. However, baby McEwan had other plans and still hasn't made his big debut. Whenever he decides to enter into the world, his Aunt Melissa or Aunt Liz is happily sitting by the phone waiting for the call!! Heather has an appointment today so hopefully her doctor will tell her it's time and I will get my phone call!!
My family (my mom, Butch, Mike and Debbie) went camping at Lake Mead for Thanksgiving and I think Ryan went to his wife's families for their big feast! My family doesn't typically do a big celebration for Thanksgiving so we mostly celebrate it with Shaun's family.

Tuesday November 10, 2009

Well, I'm not sure what to Blog about but it's been a few days so I guess I'll just start blogging.
Shaun left for Chicago on Sunday. I took him to the airport at 8:00 for his 10:00 flight which was really a bummer because Payton had a Primary program in Sacrament at 1:00. It was really cute. I kept making eyes at him and he would get all embarrassed. Tyson helped pass the sacrament for the 3rd or 4th time which is really cool and soon Jordan will get to Bless the Sacrament. Boy, they sure grow up fast!! I remember when I was young hearing people say how fast they grow up and I didn't have a clue how fast it really goes!!

Jordan is currently doing "road" after school so he is in the student driver car trying to run stop signs. He called me yesterday (his first day of road) and told me that he would have failed if this had been his last day instead of his first day of road. I asked him why and he said he almost ran a stop sign. Today he called when he was finished and I asked him if he ran any stop signs (hoping he had improved over yesterday) and he said, "No, but I tried."
His teacher had to put on the brakes so he didn't go through the stop. He told me it was an area he wasn't used to and I told him the other cars don't know if he's used to that area or not. Anyway, hopefully he will do better tomorrow! He only has through Thursday to pass. If he passes he supposedly gets to go get his license. I don't know if Shaun and I will let him get it yet or not though. He is very inattentive and nervous. He drives like a grandma or should I say grandpa.
Tyson just left for mutual. They are having Tuesday Taco Night. He was very excited. I can't believe I have 2 kids in mutual already. I am too young for that just ask Payton who thinks I am 23. I Love that boy!! OK, I love all of my boys but I especially love that he thinks I'm 23!!

Sunday October 18, 2009

Wow! We are all EXHAUSTED!! Lagoon was really fun last night and so was the corn maze two nights ago!! We had a GREAT time and the boys all loved both!!
Today Shaun has to fly out to Los Angeles for work (bummer) but we need the money!! Jordan watched the boys while I rode with Shaun to the airport and drove home. When I got home I took the boys to Wendy's because we didn't have any food in the house. We ate at the restaurant and were having a good time when Tyson bumped his cup and dumped his whole frosty into his lap. UGH!! I took our french fry containers and scraped frosty up off his lap and we finished eating and went home. The kids kind of did their own thing while I started my blog. We'll see how it goes!!
I got the kids to bed and am just waiting for my honey to call me from L.A. and then I can go to bed!! Gotta get up early tomorrow morning to read the scriptures with the kids!!

Lagoon

Yesterday (Saturday October 17, 2009) we went to Frightmares at Lagoon. Shaun had invited Dustin and his family a couple of days before but Dustin said his kids were scared of frightmares to which Shaun said well I guess that means a haunted house or haunted corn maze are out then? Dustin said that was a good assumption. :) Then Jeff found out that we were going to Lagoon so he said maybe he and his wife and Heather (his daughter) would go. They ended up going with us and it was really fun!!
We started off with Wicked because Jeff had never ridden it before and then on to the spider. I didn't ride most of the rides because of my neck ( remnants of the meningitis and brain abscess from last year) but I went through the lines with them.
When it started to get dark we went to the haunted houses. Apparently Heather is scared of clowns :) We went through three haunted houses which were pretty fun and the kids and Shaun rode on the rocket then it was time to go home. Unfortunately the park closes at 10:00 instead of 11:00 like it does in the summer. Anyway, we got our stuff out of our locker and got to the car then went to McDonald's so the kids and Shaun could eat on the way home. Payton was asleep before we even got to McDonald's but he woke up to eat.

CornBelly's

Two nights ago (Friday, October 16, 2009) we went to Thanksgiving Point to go to the Corn Maze called Cornbelly's. It was really fun. We got lost in the maze that was made in the shape of Larry H. Miller's face/head. We ended up cheating by texting a number to get a hint to find our way out. Then we watched some pigs race and they picked Payton to represent one of the pigs they called StinkerBell. Stinkerbell didn't win....they gave Payton a spider ring for being a helper and he lost it about a minute later. :) Then we went to the inflatable haunted houses. The first one we went to was some kind of dinosaur and you enter through his mouth. It was only a little bit scary. Then we went through a 3-D one and it was only a little bit scary too. The last one we went through was a haunted corn maze and it was pretty scary. I was surprised that Payton wasn't really scared! He's a pretty brave boy!! One of the clowns on a bus in the corn maze told me to sit down so he could scare my kids so I did and I screamed as they closed the bus doors and my hero boys didn't even try to save their poor mom. Payton's excuse was that he was in the lead and didn't know until they had already let me out. What a PUNK!! :)
After the haunted houses, the boys all rode the mechanical bull then we sat and watched a little singing program they put on for the kids. It was kind of silly. Payton & I ate some chicken, Jordan ate a burger and Tyson had a footlong corn dog. Then we all shared a fried PB&J which I thought was pretty good but really rich!! I'm not sure anyone else liked it though!! Then the boys played on the slides and on the big bouncy inflatable things kind of like trampolines. I hope we got photos of them on the bouncy things!! Then it was time to go home and I was FREEZING!!!!!!!!
